Morning Window: House of Stars

The contrast, the hard edges and the glass blocks made this a fun little 8×10 watercolour.

Near Coimbra, Portugal, hidden in a Eucalyptus forest, was this lovely cottage called House of Stars. The morning sun was just coming through the window. It was March and I remember  thinking about the massive snow drifts piling up back home.  Our fantastic hosts Gillian and Ingo restored it themselves.  You can book House of Stars through Airbnb.

This particular image captured a sense of timelessness for me and brings back a lot of happy memories.

This will be my last art blog before Christmas.  It may be the last of 2015 depending on how busy things get next week. I’ll still be checking in though  to see what others are painting. Thanks for all the likes, follows and comments.
Happy celebrations!
